Mission Statement

The mission of CEAP is to stablize individuals and families in financial distress and to maximize their ability to live independently and with dignity.

Vision Statement

Individuals and families in the northern Twin Cites area will have their basic needs met with dignity and will secure the skills and resources to achieve self-sufficiency. The community will be stronger, more stable, and more cohesive as a result of CEAP's leadership and services.

Location

CEAP maintains two offices, in Brooklyn Park (Hennepin County) and Blaine (Anoka County). Location, hours and service area for both offices can be found on our "Contact Us" page.

2007 Statistics

Food Shelf
5,074 families, 19,261 individuals (unduplicated count) received enough food to make 737,157 meals from CEAP's food shelves with 635,480 outgoing pounds of food.
Clothing Closet
1,279 unduplicated households and 4,814 unduplicated individual clients visited the clothing closet and 61,645 items of clothing were given away.
Anoka County Welfare to Work Transportation
Served 181 families in the amount of $102,915.
Ways To Work
74 families received vehicle financing, for a total of $231,000 in approved car purchase and repair loans during the fiscal year.
Back to School Program
CEAP served a total of 3,121 children through the Northtown Mall, Brookdale Center and the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes Back to School Caring Tree Program
CEAP's Holiday Program
The holidays bring an increased financial burden for those who are already struggling. Last year, 3,632 individuals from 675 families and 120 seniors and persons with disabilities received holiday meals and/or gifts from CEAP's Brooklyn Park and Anoka combined Holiday Programs.
Children's Birthday Bags
Birthday bags are given to 350 to 500 elementary age children of clients each year (at parents request). Every bag contains cake & frosting mix, and various party favors and a gift or book. They are donated by individuals, schools, businesses, & congregations.
Layettes
Each client in need with a newborn receives a layette bundle containing new baby clothing and various baby items valued about $40. Different civic organizations, business and church groups have "baby showers" and the items are donated to CEAP.
 

Volunteer Statistics

Volunteers donated 24,172 hours serving the community at a value of $453,708 which is the equivalent of 12 full time employees.

Senior Chore Programs

  • Total people served: 122

  • Raking/Special Projects: 160
  • Volunteer Hours: 2,314

Meals on Wheels Program

  • Total clients: 285
  • Meals delivered daily: 145
  • Meals delivered monthly: 2,908
  • Total annual meals: 34,899
  • Volunteer hours: 5,880 (these volunteer hours are also included in the total number of volunteer hours worked through CEAP)

Commendations

On November 29, 2000, the House of Representatives of the Minnesota State Legislature passed a Resolution honoring CEAP for "the efforts it makes to help people."

Non-Profit Status

CEAP meets all standards of the Charities Review Council of Minnesota. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All contributions are tax deductible as permitted by law.
